Giving Back on Giving Tuesday: Supporting Families in Need with Carry the Cause

Share

As the holiday season brings communities together in celebration, it’s easy to forget that for many families, the challenges of hunger and food insecurity don’t take a holiday. This is especially true in January and February, when donations to food banks and pantries dwindle after the seasonal rush of generosity fades. That’s why Village Farms Greenhouse Grown is proud to join forces with The Healthy Family Project’s Carry the Cause initiative, launching this Giving Tuesday and continuing through the end of February, to make a meaningful impact in our communities.

Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to charitable giving, marks the beginning of this important campaign. It provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on how we can extend kindness and support to those in need—not just during the holidays but throughout the challenging winter months ahead.

Why Manna FoodBank?

This year, we’re proud to direct our support to Manna FoodBank in Asheville, NC, an organization that has been a lifeline for families affected by Hurricane Helene. As the community continues to recover from the storm’s devastating effects, Manna FoodBank remains steadfast in its mission to provide food and resources to those in need.

“At Village Farms Greenhouse Grown, we’re committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Partnering with The Healthy Family Project’s Carry the Cause initiative allows us to address the critical need for food assistance during the winter months when support for food banks often declines. We chose Manna FoodBank in Asheville, NC, because their dedication to helping families recover from Hurricane Helene aligns with our values of resilience and community support. Together, we hope to provide not only nourishment but also hope to families facing challenging times.”

Each purchase helps support the Feeding America food bank network

We’re proud to be working with Healthy Family Project to help support Feeding America network food banks like Manna FoodBank from the sales of these reusable tote bags. In addition, Village Farms Greenhouse Grown is making a direct company donation to further Carry the Cause’s mission of restocking shelves and filling pantries during the critical post-holiday period. These efforts will help ensure that Manna FoodBank can continue to serve as a cornerstone of support for families in Asheville and beyond.

Join the Campaign through February

Though Giving Tuesday is the official launch of this campaign, the work doesn’t stop there. The Carry the Cause initiative will continue through the end of February, ensuring that food banks receive much-needed support during the toughest months of the year.
