Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Sinfully Sweet Campari® tomatoes, diced
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper (red or yellow), chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups beef broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian version)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, for deeper flavor)
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional, enhances sweetness)
- Fresh cilantro and sliced jalapeños for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté the Aromatics
Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onions, bell peppers, and garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes. - Brown the Meat
Add ground beef (or turkey) to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed. - Enhance the Flavor with Spices
Stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne, salt, and black pepper, coating the meat evenly for a deep, aromatic base. - Incorporate the Fresh Tomatoes
Add diced Sinfully Sweet Campari® tomatoes along with tomato paste, stirring well to release their natural juices. Let cook for 5 minutes to soften. - Simmer the Chili
Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce (if using), and maple syrup/honey (if using). Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to blend flavors. - Add the Beans
Stir in kidney beans and black beans, allowing them to heat through for another 10–15 minutes. - Serve & Enjoy
Ladle the chili into bowls and garnish with fresh cilantro, sliced jalapeños, or a dollop of Greek yogurt. Serve with warm cornbread, tortilla chips, or rice for a complete meal.
